PRINCESS HIJAB

Though we're currently in the midst of our busiest period here at Nuart towers, we still hope to find the time to post up some of Street Art's more interesting projects whilst we run. Princess Hijab is striking at the heart of advertising and Sarkozy's nasty little policies towards the "other" by placing the "other" directly in front of commuters ! Seems to be saying "There's nothing to fear, but fear itself". A brave project with little or no resources that is turning the power of advertising in on itself.

Princess Hijab,
a documentary following the artist bringing veils to the faces of Paris.

From Babelgum

As the French Senate approve a ban on burqas, we profile the anonymous Parisian graffiti artist whose work 'hijabizing' adverts raises the question of why hiding a face behind a veil is considered to be more of a repressive act than hiding one behind airbrushing and media gloss.
