BÄST & CO AT AGNES B

Seems the newly opened Agnes B in NYC has a great little gallery room with what looks like some quality pieces on show. Loving the Bäst's and the Ellis work looks pretty special too.

"Part of the location is dedicated to art but naturally belongs within the boutique. In the other part, men’s and women’s collection, bags and accessories, and the artists t-shirts collection created specially for this occasion by artists Rostarr, Young Kim, Ryan McGinness, Harmony Korine, Ryan McGinley, José Parla, BÄST, David Ellis, Louise Bourgeois and Jonas Mekas. Works by these artists will be exhibited in the gallery area#

JOSÉ PARLA & ARKITIP

PARLA AT WORK

Arkitip join forces with incase and José Parla. Not too interested in the product, but the video is cool, great to see the process behind his work.

José Parlá Sleeve
Curated by Arkitip, Produced by Incase
José Parlá is an artist who records his experiences in calligraphic and palimpsestic code. Serving as a collection of textually chronicled memories, the markings appear on backdrops that resemble the distressed surfaces he encounters. As a storyteller, Parlá presents an enigmatic narrative, translating moments that only a visual dialogue can convey.

Incidentally Arkitip's Parla issue 33 is still available Here

JOSÈ PARLA THE CONCORD PROJECT

Not sure if I fully understand this project, but seems Jose Parla has been commissioned by Concord Pacific, Canada's largest Community builder" to produce a mural for one of their development projects. The work is immense and looks pretty amazing. Look forward to seeing the piece in situ.
