DOTMASTERS

Dotmasters "On The Hop" from Martin Hawkes on Vimeo.

Thought we'd already posted this up but after trawling through the site couldn't seem to find it, so posting it again. Well worth a second look.

5 days and nights of painting compressed to 1 minute. Dotmasters painted hops on the side of a brewery in Stavanger, Norway for Reed Projects.

ON THE HOP WITH THE DOTMASTER

Dotmasters "On The Hop" from Martin Hawkes on Vimeo.

We were recently commissioned by the local brewery Lervig to produce a mural for the side of their building. After hanging the show Outside In, we hopped on a plane to Bergen for the (___)Capitalism? event then straight back to Stavanger to start on this. The Dotmaster really pulled one out of the bag with this. Martin Hawkes, film maker with Saft Film, actually, he is Saft film, came along with his assistant Frank and a bunch of ropey looking equipment including a 6m piece of aluminium rail. Turned out to be Martin's home build opensource camera tracking system. 5 days and nights of rain later.. and Bam ! Perhaps the best shot wall we've ever seen.

Congrats to all involved. Looks awesome !

DOTMASTERS IN STAVANGER

It's been a crazy few weeks here at Nuart towers, straight off the back of our first gallery show Outside In, 140 works from over 30 artists and a storming opening night, we hopped on a plane to Bergen for the Nuart v's Nhh project with Eine, after 3 days it was back to Stavanger for this 50m piece on the side of the local brewery Lervig. Feels a little like wall to wall combat this month.

NUART V'S NHH IN BERGEN

Going big with Eine in Bergen for a new project we're working on with the Norwegian School of Economics. (______) Capitalism ?

What happens if you combine an academic elite institution like the Norwegian School of Economics with the anti authoritarian, counter cultural street art movement? There's only one way to find out…

Between now and September 6th in association with the Norwegian School of Economics, we'll be curating and producing a series of large scale street pieces on the schools exterior walls. This will culminate with an international seminar series on the schools 75th Anniversary around the topic of Street Art and Capitalism, the day will be opened by none other than the King of Norway himself (Yep, that's right). The first artist up is Eine, more will follow (watch this space) Confirmed guests for the seminar series include Tristan Manco and Evan Roth (G.R.L). The project has really caught the medias attention, and rightly too. Into the lions den we go.

More news soon...

MAD PRIDE PRINT

It's rare that we promote artists prints and editions, there are more than enough forums, print websites and blogs that do this far better than we ever could. However, as we may have said before.. (actually, we stole the saying from a meeting with a company director).. "No rules without exceptions"..

Mad Print benefit print from Dotmasters

You may of seen the posters, Tee shirts, placards or the shutters on Curtain Road in London. Well here's the silkscreen print.

Designed for Mad Pride's current campaign against the benefit cuts, this is a two colour hand pulled silk screen in an edition of 50 measuring 57cm x 38cm on 300gsm somerset antique white.

Mad Pride is a celebration of mad culture, a chequered flag of demo's performances, art, music and resistance. Organised by a group of mental health survivours, Mad pride has been a constant form of creative protest for many years. I have been involved since 2005 in varying ways, the events are always volatile affairs but i have always been deeply affected by them.

All the proceeds from this silkscreen goes back to Mad Pride.

The 25 of the 50 of this edition are available here at the price of £30 with postage and packing of £11
