Vhils is undoubtedly one of the most skilled and talented young artists on the urban art scene today. He creates technically masterful, contemporary portraits by not only adding paint or other materials onto surfaces, but also carving, drilling, scratching, ripping, or blasting his images out of walls. With nothing less than archeological meticulousness, Vhils penetrates through countless layers of posters, dirt, and plaster to set free the unsettlingly poetic images hidden in urban spaces.
The monograph Vhils is the most extensive collection of his personal and commissioned work to date, much of which is published here for the first time. The introduction is written by Marc and Sara Schiller of Wooster Collective.

NUART V'S NHH IN BERGEN
Going big with Eine in Bergen for a new project we're working on with the Norwegian School of Economics. (______) Capitalism ?
What happens if you combine an academic elite institution like the Norwegian School of Economics with the anti authoritarian, counter cultural street art movement? There's only one way to find out…
Between now and September 6th in association with the Norwegian School of Economics, we'll be curating and producing a series of large scale street pieces on the schools exterior walls. This will culminate with an international seminar series on the schools 75th Anniversary around the topic of Street Art and Capitalism, the day will be opened by none other than the King of Norway himself (Yep, that's right). The first artist up is Eine, more will follow (watch this space) Confirmed guests for the seminar series include Tristan Manco and Evan Roth (G.R.L). The project has really caught the medias attention, and rightly too. Into the lions den we go.
More news soon...
